Please forgive the dust as I try to build this place back up. My time elsewhere ended so I am trying to rebuild the Prospect Park while letting you guys know how the New York Rangers prospects are doing.
However I really could use some help from you folks. Number one on the list is what items you guys want to see here whether it is images or videos of the prospects in action.
The second item which is super important to me is I need your help advertising this place. If you like what is covered here then please share it with your friends. The bigger the audience I can build here, the better a site I can build.
Prospect Action
2023 sixth round pick left wing Ty Henricks earned the game’s second star with a two-goal effort as his seventh-ranked Western Michigan University Broncos spanked the Omaha Mavericks 7-2 in NCHC play. The sophomore Henricks has back-to-back two goal games as he has a two-goal game last week against Miami.
In the second period with the game tied at 1-1 and the Broncos on the power play, Henricks put his team in front for good when he deflected a shot past the Mavericks goalie to give his a 2-1 lead at 3:18 of the period.

The goal was Henricks sixth of the season and he was not done as after his Broncos increased their lead to 3-1, Henricks scored his second goal of the evening this one also on the power play.
This one was a different type of goal than we are used to seeing out of Henricks as this one came as Henricks came in from the left point and fired a snap shot that beat the Mavericks goalie over his glove.

This was Henrick’s seventh goal on the season, his third power play goal as Henricks improved to 7-5-12 which is one goal and one point less than he had all of last season. The sophomore did not even have a single power play goal last season.
The best thing to notice about Henricks so far this season is that he is looking for his shot more often; something he never did last year or even in his last season in the USHL two seasons ago.
At 6’5 210, Henricks already is bigger than your average NHL power forward which is making this young player looking more promising for the future. Same two teams on Saturday evening.

Malcom Spence had a goal as his second-ranked Michigan Wolverines defeated Ohio State 5-2 in Big Ten play. Spence’s fifth goal of the season came in the first period and at even strength as he tied the game at 1-1.
It was almost a carbon copy of Henricks second goal only Spence found a loose puck and fired it from the high slot to tie the game up.

If there is one criticism to have of Spence is that he just is not shooting the puck as often as he was doing when he played for the Erie Otters last year. If you are averaging two shots a game then you are not going to score much.
Spence’s best two games this year saw him with five and four shots each. Spence is 5-4-9 after 15 games and while yes there is a learning curve coming from the juniors to the NCAA, Spence is a player who more is expected of at this point of the season.

Artem Gonchar had a goal as his Sudbury Wolves defeated the London Wolves 6-3 in OHL action. Gonchar’s fifth goal of the season broke a 1-1 tie and gave his Wolves the lead for good in the second period.
Got to admit this was an “excuse me” goal as somehow Gonchar had a backhand shot slide off his stick and it just slid into an empty net without touching anyone. Sometimes you got to be lucky as Gonchar who struggled badly as he adjusted to playing in North America is starting to find his game.

His fourth goal in his last five games, Gonchar is now 5-4-9 thanks to his first OHL power play goal,
The current OHL player of the week Nathan Aspinall had a secondary assist in regulation as his Flint Firebirds won their seventh straight 2-1 over the Brampton Steelheads via the shootout in OHL play. Aspinall did convert on his shootout attempt to help the Firebirds earn the win.
The assist improved the Rangers prospects leading scorer to 12-16-28 in 19 games.
Brody Lamb was scoreless as his Minnesota Golden Gophers rallied from down 2-0 to upset fifth-ranked Penn State 3-2 in Big Ten action. Lamb was credited with one shot has been tied for the scoring lead on Minnesota with a 7-5-12 mark.
Drew Fortescue was scoreless as his 15th-ranked Boston College Eagles defeated the 11th-ranked Maine Black Bears 7-3 in Hockey East action. Fortescue is 3-5-8 this season which is a huge improvement over a goalless sophomore season a year ago.
Evan Passmore was scoreless as his Barrie Colts needed the shootout before earning a 3-2 win over the Erie Otters in OHL action. Passmore is 1-0-1 in 23 games but Barrie has him wearing an “A” and he is on the top defensive pair so they know something about him.
Raoul Boilard was scoreless as his Shawinigan Cataractes defeated the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 4-2 in QMJHL play. Boilard was used as a center and he was 7-5 on his faceoffs.
Overall Boilard is 5-11-16 but he has gone the last eight games without a goal.
Sean Barnhill had a secondary assist as his top-ranked Michigan State Spartans dropped a 5-4 decision to eighth-ranked Wisconsin in Big Ten play. It was Barnhill’s third assist and point of the season as the freshman defenseman has been the third pair right side defenseman.
The loss ended a Michigan State nine game winning streak.
Rasmus Larsson was scoreless as his Robert Morris Colonials dropped a 6-2 non-conference decision to the Lindwood Lions. Larsson is just coming back from a lower-body injury as the transfer sophomore is trying to find his game.
Robert Morris as a team is struggling to find themselves as the loss dropped their record to 2-8-1 and the loss was their fifth straight.
Exhibition Play
There was no box score so it is not sure whether or not E. J. Emery even played in his sixth-ranked North Dakota’s 6-1 over the USNTP Under-18 team. Emery has been a much improved player at both ends of the ice this season even if his 2-2-4 stats do not reflect his overall play.
